The tape end is very well attached to the pull-hook with several inches of a rubber strain relief to prevent any hint of stress or breakage there. The markings are inches/feet on one face of the tape, and Metric on the reverse side. All markings are clear and easy to read at a glance. There is no apparent stretching when the tape is pulled tight for a measurement, making for very good accuracy. The winding mechanism is smooth and rapid enough, despite no 3X "fast wind" mechanism that more expensive tapes sometimes have. We have noticed a slight tendency for the tape to fold onto itself when twisted over a long length, but this has not been a problem for us at all.
