Review: good cost-to-benefit ratio - Good gaiwan for the money. Nice shape for brewing, clean lines in its design. Flat bottom, even rim, thin walls. Good for green tea. Takes a minute to figure out the ideal grip, but once you have your technique dialed in, this is fun and easy to use. Rim could be slightly more flared, this would allow for a cleaner pour, but overall it doesn't dribble so I can't say it's bad. Lid does a good job of holding the leaf back while the soup pours quickly. Only thing I don't like is that the underside of the lid is hollow, so where your finger sits and holds the lid down, there's a chamber where hot water can quickly fill up and burn your finger. Making the lid a solid semi-circle piece and then fusing the button down on top of that would correct this flaw. Otherwise it's pretty nice and exceeds my $10-ish expectations.
Review: High quality but gets HOT - I had been looking at this gaiwan off and on for a year. I loved the idea of seeing my tea, but since glass conducts heat, I opted for a porcelain gaiwan. Since I'm doing tea classes at home, I decided to buy a (few) extra gaiwans, and I broke down and bought this. The gaiwan is beautiful. The glass was a bit thinner than I was expecting, but that's not a negative. I keep dropping the bottom saucer a few inches and it hasn't broken, so that's nice (though I don't recommend doing that). The big issue is that it gets hot, which I knew buying this. I used it today for a black tea, so just under boiling water, and it burned to hold it, whereas I have no issues with the porcelain ones (and have been told I have asbestos hands since I can hold anywhere on a porcelain gaiwan with just under boiling water). I don't recommend it as your main gaiwan, but for something fun to bring out occasional and use with the lower temperature teas, it's a quality product.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ High quality but gets HOT

### ⭐ Not glass/porcelain
*by J***A on December 19, 2020*

Disappointed. I feel alot more plastic than glass or porcelain in this cup. Accidentally dropped lid on floor and confirmed my suspicion. Boiling water into my loose leaf tea makes the cup so hot. Afraid it will melt. Went right into the trash after first use.
