The plastic base on the regular 3157 can withstand temperatures of up to 120 C. The "LCP" base can withstand temperatures of up to 230C.Everything this bulb offers is what you need except I am not 100% sure yet if this bulb is manufactured with the LCP base. If Ford specifies a LCP base you "need" to make sure you get the LCP base. Cars around 10 years ago started having issues where the lenses, wiring, etc... were melting because the bulbs were getting hot and this was all due to the base initially melting from high temperatures. Sylvania helped fix this by coming out with the LCP base.I currently have a message into my Sylvania rep to find out if these bulbs use the LCP base. Years ago the base had to be a gray colored base to qualify but I believe they started making them in black now as well so I wanted to double check with Sylvania before giving you an exact answer if this will work for your vehicle or not.
