I've tried many "natural" products, but none of them really worked except for flea shampoos, but any shampoo works if you leave it on your dog for awhile. After shampooing, however, the fleas will come back, so shampooing isn't really the best way to keep fleas and ticks off your dog, but that's what I did for a long time as I didn't want to use toxic pesticides, especially for Violet who will have violent seizures after receiving a pesticide, whether orally or topically. My other dog, Suzie, doesn't have seizures, but I'd rather not subject any animal, including myself, to toxic substances. I would have given five stars, but I'm not sure right now if my dogs are completely flea free, but I've seen no ticks on them since wearing this collar. There is a slight herbal odor, but my dogs don't seem to be bothered by it at all.
