It does protect your fretboard while you’re using a Dremel to clean and buff frets. **Q: Could this work on 8 strings guitar ?** A: Yes, the slots are long enough to work with the frets on the widest of necks. **Q: Will these work on a non radiused 52mm classical fret board** A: I believe that one of them will work for a 52mm fret wire. I cannot accurately measure the real gap on the largest one but I believe it will work. You may need to augment the tool with some tape or paper to make sure not to scuff the fretboard. 'Blue Painter's Tape' would most likely work to protect your fretboard. I would be interested to know if you get them and the outcome. I have a cheap Peavey Electric and they worked fine for it. I did not use them on my acoustics but they are good guitars and have not needed any fret polishing.
