They are perfect for my daughters pigtails or a single ponytail/half up hair style. She is just turned two and they are a nice size that she will be able to wear for a long time. I would say the bow size may be too big or overpowering for an infant with not a lot of hair but are perfect for a toddler. I'm not a fan of the huge over-sized bows but wanted something that was a little more significant than the small 1 - 1.5 inch bows you can buy in a multi-pack at most department stores. I searched until I found bows that had the exposed metal alligator clips as opposed to the fabric covered clips as those do not stay put in my daughters hair and these were exactly as described. My daughter wore the dark purple pair for church Sunday and kept them in her hair as we played out on our farm all day, I didn't have to re-position them at all, even after a nap! I will also say, for them to stay put so well they are also easy to remove just look to make sure there is no hair behind the part you squeeze to open and they come straight out with no pulling!
