But 2lbs will get it done. **Q: Anyone else have this stuff turn to dust as soon as it made contact with water?** A: I have the fine. It didn't turn to dust. Don't try to prewash it. Just put it in the tank. If you poor water gently onto bubble sheet or the package wrapper that helps not stir up the dirt. It hasn't lowered my pH at all so far having been in the tank for 3 weeks now. It's easy to plant in but sometimes the roots can come up easy, I think cause the particles are bigger. The color however is dark brown not black and it is noticable but I really like it.
