There is one large rechargeable battery in the battery compartment which is removable and can be replaced with three AA batteries. I especially like this since the rechargeable battery is only good for about two hours and well, you never know what a situation might present. A good addition to my flashlight/lantern supply which puts out 300 lumens and is easy to hang in two ways, a hook and the handles that rotate upward when the main light is opened. There are also three magnets on the bottom for attachment to a metal surface. Pretty amazing set and a great value.

I use these lanterns for both camping and ice fishing. There’s so much to like about these lanterns. Firstly, they are inexpensive, but also very bright and seem to be fairly good quality. I love that they can be charged using the rechargeable battery, or use disposable batteries. It’s nice to have the option to save money on batteries by charging, but also have the option to use disposable batteries if needed, like when camping and you can’t recharge them. They’re very versatile. You can hang them from the folding hook on the botttom, sit them upright on a table, use the magnet under the hood of your vehicle, or prop it up with the metal stand. It also has a radiant 360° light, as well as a light on top to point downward when hanging. They designed these lanterns to have so many uses. I like that they are also small and lightweight, so they are easy to pack. I love the performance of the unit but one of the reasons that I bought it was that it is a hybrid lamp. There is one large rechargeable battery in the battery compartment which is removable and can be replaced with three AA batteries. I especially like this since the rechargeable battery is only good for about two hours and well, you never know what a situation might present.
