As a test, I added about a teaspoon of powder to an estimated half cup of water that I had put into a plastic bag to test its effectiveness. I was surprised at how fast the water turned into a solid gel that I was able to pick up in my hand. As a second test, I poured a glass of pickle juice and added the powder to test for odor control. Again it absorbed all the liquid very quickly, and I could hardly detect any pickle smell at all. I am sure this will work for our needs while camping. It was very easy to use, and I would definitely purchase this again.
