A: It takes C batteries but only if you want it to make noise. My 2 year old plays with it just fine without noise.

**Q: is this the one with a USB port Im looking for a mini desktop vacuum**
A: No, this is a kids toy with no real suction. It plugs into the wall and makes noise like a real vacuum but does nothing.

This sucks and by that I mean it is does NOT suck or is anything like they claim. Cheap. It was $32 (so not worth it) and can’t even suck up a tiny piece of fluff. The attachment hose swivels so much the child can’t keep the head down. Frustrated and quit playing within ten minutes. I know it’s not a real one but it should do what they claim. Funky function!! Regret buying it.
