A friend of mine even uses it for Tear away machine embroidery stabilizer...she uses a double layer and says it works well.

I use this for tracing clothing patterns. I love it and it is way more affordable than what they sell as pattern paper. It’s like a cross between tissue paper and paper...A bit stronger than tissue paper, but easier to tear than regular sheet paper. You can see through it really well to trace what’s under it.
