As stated earlier, the large metal ball winder can be used for all yarns. **Q: I would love to know if knitters generally draw yarn from the center, & if so what (besides preventing cake from rolling around) are the advantages?** A: The advantage of pulling from the center is less twist as you unwind the yarn. When you wind it, you put a certain amount of twist in, but most of that is alleviated by the "wobble" of the ball winder. If you then unwind from the outside, there is an additional twist each time you unwrap the yarn from the top. **Q: Is there a maximum diameter?
