Review: It works perfectly - My daughter's 2012 Ford Explorer Limited touch screen wasn't working, though the video display seemed to be fine. After watching a few YouTube videos, I ordered this touch digitizer to replace the original one. Much better than the $1000+ the dealer wanted to fix it. Prying off the side trim was tricky but doable. Just be careful and get some plastic pry tools. The side trim comes off from the inside edge. The top clip needs to be pushed outwards, the others just pop off. The larger trim (with AC vents on top and control buttons on the bottom) then comes off easily though be careful with the top. There's one plug to remove the large trim unit. The screen unit comes off with four 7mm bolts. One of the plugs comes off easily, the other I was afraid I might break it. So rather than unplugging the screen unit from the car, I left it all connected and removed the four M4 Philips head screws on the back of the computer/heat sink (heavy part in back with fins) and separated the screen unit from the computer unit. It just snaps off if you pull it straight off. Four torx screws (2 top and bottom, T10 I think) allow separation of the screens from the screen control unit. There is no need to remove the 4 T15 Torx screws on the sides, they just hold the mounting brackets that attach to the car. Remove the metal frame to get access to the touch digitizer. I disconnected only the digitizer, and left the screen ribbon cable connected because I couldn't tell how best to detach the screen ribbon cable, and it wasn't necessary. Then, using a single edge razor blade, I separated the screen and the touch digitizer by running it around the screen between the digitizer and the LCD display, and then used the razor blade to remove the sticky tape residue from the top and bottom edges of the original screen. I didn't bother with the sides, since the new unit only has sticky tape on the top and bottom edges. After removing the protective film from the back, and then exposing the sticky tape, the screen fit right in place. The new digitizer plugs in where the old one was. I then removed the protective film from the front, and put it all back together with the 4 Torx screws on top and bottom. The screen unit then snaps back into the computer/heat sink base, and attaches with the 4 M4 screws removed earlier. It then mounts to the car with 4 7mm bolts. Plug the large trim unit back in and reattach it, and then check that it all words before replacing the side trim. It worked first time.
Review: Easy to install - Very easy to install, less than 10 minutes
