My cousin's son passed away in a tragic accident after getting stuck between stacked gates. The dog can't get into the area that she is not allowed. The size is fitting for a true Dalmatian (medium/large dog). The quality of this gate is made from strong plastic. They include several ways to install. In the beginning, I opted to use the spring loading method but found that to be a bit cumbersome for me. I finally screwed it into the wall using the included mounts and that has made my life so much more easier (for me to access). It is a good safety gate since it keeps my room off access to the dog. I have had it up for over a month, with no issues. It is sturdy and gets the job done.
