Some researches showed fans that ranked high that I simply wasn’t interested in due to the size of my bathroom.After looking at many and reading the pros & cons, I determined that you’ll never find that perfect product but you may find one that is a pretty safe bet to go with.Even though I looked at many well known brands, I kept coming back to this one. It’s ranked in the top 10 by consumers & rated to be able to get rid of the moist air for my size bathroom with no trouble. After reading about what “sones” is (and it’s decibel reading) I’m pleased that this fan is rated at 0.9 sones which is very quiet.Now although I haven’t installed it yet, installation looks pretty easy (new construction). I did test it first to see if it is in good working order and to just find out how quiet it really is. I was very pleased! It appears to be very well built. It's quiet, but moves a lot of air. There are a couple of points worth sharing.First, it is heavy so just attaching one side of the unit to a joist won't be enough. The other end will sag. Therefore, I used the brackets provided to attach it to adjacent joists. Problem solved. If you are installing this as a replacement, just figure you're going to have drywall repair around it and start off by cutting a hole large enough to enable you to work around it.The instructions are brief, basically telling you to hire an installer. However, if you are an experienced DIYer and have some basic electrical knowledge, its no big deal.and a fairly easy install.The don't like the light quality and it isn't very bright. This may be a problem if this unit will be your only light source in a bathroom.
