The main problem is the small bore on the hand pump and hose so it takes an age to syphon what is left in the cistern after using the flush, usually an inch or two. When I used a lenth of hose I was looking at around a minute to empty the cistern, this is well over five minutes, doesn't sound long but it is if you have ever stood at the side of a Kettle and waited for it to boil. I'm going to try to fit the squeeze bulb on to a normal hose to try to increase the flow rate. To be honest it isn't designed for my use.
