Phalaenopsis species blooms mostly look NOTHING like the mass-produced supermarket Phal hybrids. The species come from all over Asia, and have incredibly interesting flowers, growth habits, and fragrances. We're offering one very striking type here, Phal mannii. The star-shaped blooms are intensely colored and patterned, unlike anything you'll find at Safeway/Krogers/Lion, and they produce a citrusy fragrance, too! The diversity and richness of Phal species gets overlooked when hybrids can be found everywhere, but growing and blooming them is as rewarding as any other kind of orchid, and successful Phal hybrid growers generally will find the transition to growing the species pretty easy. ## Features - Easy to grow, citrus fragrance flowers when in bloom. This species hails from India/Vietnam/China, and looks VERY different from its supermarket Phalaenopsis cousins Perfect for the orchid grower already successful with supermarket Phal hybrids, and ready to try something different! Its small size makes it perfect for space-limited growing areas. Plants offered are Blooming Size (but NOT in-bud/bloom when shipped). This species is MUCH smaller than supermarket Phalaenopsis hybrids, but it is Blooming Size. Please look at all the photos in this listing for representative photos of plants offered. How to grow this Phalaenopsis: 1) Medium shady conditions (avoid direct sun) 2) Keep humidity high around plant.
