Based on my experience with this frying pan. It is a very good on the top of the stove frying pan. However I wouldn't use this frying pan inside of the oven, bcuz of the wooden handle that can burn in the oven. Also the glass lid is not recommended for oven usage bcuz it can explode inside the oven. **Q: is there teflon in this pan?** A: This product likely has PTFE. Teflon was DuPonts brand name for PTFE. When their patents expired, many companies chose different names for PTFE. PFOA was originally used to manufacture PTFE but now it’s illegal to sell PFOA in the US, so manufacturers replaced it with something else from a similar PFOA family. It's so well made and the design is so much better than using a big stock pot for my chili. Both my stock pot and this pan are 5 quarts, both have heavy bottoms, are great designs, and work for making soups and stews in... but I wanted a pot that was wider and lower profile with even heat distribution, and this pan fit the bill. I preferred the nonstick cooking surface over the stockpot. The nonstick surface allowed me to brown my ground beef with my chopped onions at the same time then add my other ingredients to the same pot without having to dirty up several pots and pans. The lid made everything so much easier and saved on cook time. The pan cleaned up easily with mild soap and a dish cloth. The chili came superb with no worries of it sticking or burning, which can happen more easily in the stock pot.
