The way I see it, these products are less prone to fashion trends and often last a lifetime with proper care. With this in mind, I picked up these made-in-Japan chopsticks for camping and picnicking, knowing their resin-fiberglass construction would stand up against swings in temperature, humidity and not-so-gentle washing and handling.Upon close inspection, I was very pleased with their quality, particularly the consistency and overall design. They are perfectly straight and the molding is impeccable, without any unsightly flashing or seams. Each one is identical to the other including the tips, where a lot of variation occurs in lesser-quality products (see photo). There is also some texturing on the business end which add a measure of security when grasping slippery foods like noodles and round items. They do not feel “plasticky” and instead feel “warm” to the touch, not unlike wood. This is especially appreciated outdoors in the cold (pick up a steel utensil with your bare hands and you’ll know what I mean).The manufacturer did an admirable job balancing the materials with aesthetics, resulting in a product that would match any fine dining setting and are almost too nice for outdoor use, although they are certainly tough enough. Because of their synthetic construction throughout they resist showing scratches and can be washed using the textured side of a dish sponge. Traditional chopsticks with fine lacquering cannot withstand this abrasion.Additionally, the product description states they can withstand temperatures up to 475 degrees F and can be used in hospitals where they are sterilized at high temperatures. Still, your skillet gets much hotter than this so common sense is in order if using them for cooking (avoid direct contact with the pan’s surface).Overall a pleasant surprise concerning the quality and I look forward to adding the other colorways to my collection. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Highly recommended *by A***N on Reviewed in the United States on August 28, 2017* I use chopsticks very often and have to say that these are the best by far.As they contain fiberglass nothing will melt or chip away.With the square design and rounded edges they are comfortable in your hands.
