Having spent a few years in Northern New England I enjoyed her references to towns and language. I was so glad for this easy flow because I had just finished a book by another Maine writer...something about a "Wreck" of Christmas in which there was nothing but continuing conversation by one group and another so that I felt like I had no time to take a breath. This was a much nicer read. The murder and the mystery well told. I went on to read others of her books but please keep me away from the constant babble. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Enjoyable New England Mystery *by E***D on September 9, 2016* I really enjoyed this book and finding a new mystery series set in New England. Some other reviewers complained about the frequent time/temperature updates from the car, but I liked those because they gave me a feel for the setting that I could relate to. I check the clock/temp in my vehicle whenever I get in, so that detail was helpful to me in relating to the main character and the setting. Good story with a twist, and I liked this book enough that I promptly ordered the next 2 in the series for my kindle and read both of them too. I'm looking forward to more books in this series. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good first effort *by S***R on April 13, 2015* This is a first book for this author. It held my attention. The location seems real. I think the protagonist's personality should be a little better drawn. He seems to have few emotions and an obsession with the time of day. The author seems to pay more attention to minutiae than to characterization. I will definitely buy the next in the series to see if it goes a little more smoothly, as this seemed to jump from character to character more than I like in a book.I would prefer a little more depth of character for the "good guys" and a little less for the villains.
