This headlamp is great. I like that you can twist the lens and make it a direct beam or cover a big area. The headlamp is not heavy at all in my opinion and it is pretty lightweight. Great for backpacking or just camping. The 3 brightness settings are good and very bright. However, if you have it on the brightest setting for multiple hours at a time you can see that it starts to dim up. I like that it comes with a rechargeable battery and an option to use AAA batteries. I just got back from my first trip with it and I went to put AAA batteries in it and one of the slots for a battery was not holding the battery tight in place and when i would close the cover for it the battery would wobble around in it and I couldn’t turn on the light. I believe this is because one of the prongs that holds the battery in got pressed in too much. I’m returning this one hoping that it is a one time defect. The band is breathable and rubber so you don’t have to worry about nasty cloth that you have to pull apart and wash. It’s easy to wipe off the light is extremely bright in spotlight mode.. regular AA batteries are OK but it dims overtime and makes the light in effective. I’m a contractor that works outside at night on a regular basis. This light in particular is great because it has a focus ring on the light.I own 2 of these coast headlamps because they’re so good.
