The band is soft and good height. The material is soft and lightweight without being sheer which is just awesome. It's such a plus to have the pockets too. I really like that there a band on the bottom of the legs so you don't have dragging pants. I'm short so that's a big perk. They also aren't right around the ankles you can actually pull them up to I've the knees comfortably. I'm so happy with this purchase and I wear them at home and outside the house. They don't make you look sloppy so I have no worries wearing them out.
