From what I see all the issues are from misuse of the kettle and not the kettle itself. If you’re using this on an induction range, most of those problems can never happen. All the reports of the handle or the whistle melting or falling out is because the kettle is being used on a burner that is too large. If you’re using gas or electric range, you need to use it on a small burner. If the burner is much larger than 6 inches in diameter, the heat will naturally rise up and overheat and can melt the plastic handle and the whistle assembly. Some people complained the whistle wasn’t loud enough. My hearing isn’t the best, but I can easily hear the whistle. I suppose if you have severe hearing loss or you’re in the remote corner of your 20 room mansion, you might not hear the whistle.
