However, the author has truly enliven the topic with his narration of facts, figures, pictures, bibliography and details on the horrific times the city went through before and after the British onslaught in 1857. One has to devote to this book to understand the tumulous times ordinary citizens faced both at the hands of the British and the mutinous sepoys.I had previously read two books written by the author on the Sikh wars against the British in Punjab, but this book definitely supersedes those two on the scale of research and complexity of its resources. This definitely isn't a light read, but thoroughly enjoyable for any one who has a profound interest in post-medieval and early modern Indian history. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Must read book for history aspirants and researchers. *by S***H on 29 December 2021* Last year I have read two books on Anglo-Sikh wars written by author of this book Mr Amarpal Singh. There is no doubt that Mr. Amarpal Singh's grip on history is very strong. In this book he has given a detailed account of the events that took place in Delhi during the 1857 revolution. I wish them all the best in the future for writing more historical books to enhance our knowledge.
