It's not quite 1/4. It's a little bit bigger so I won't fit on standard valve adapter.** A: The threads on the end of the sprayer hose are 1/4 FIP (female iron pipe). My sink shutoff valve is 3/8" male compression fitting. I used an adaptor from Home Depot, 1/4 Male Iron Pipe - 3/8 Male compression fitting attached to the sprayer hose, and a short hose connector with 3/8 female compresión fittings both ends. **Q: Can this be used to replace the plastic sprayer that comes with a Moen or Kohler kitchen faucet?** A: The Sprayer and attached flexible stainless steel metal hose are brand independent. You remove the hose at the connection with the faucet (underneath) using an open end wrench (5/8" if I remember correctly). The escutcheon mount on the sink is then removed, as there is a hex or plastic nut you unscrew from underneath. The entire old assembly comes out. install the new escutcheon, drop in the hose and attach the connector at the faucet (female to male). Of course, you turn the water off at the valves underneath the sink first. This is the finest sprayer I have ever used!!! I have retrofitted three to date in my home. The removal and installation process is the same whether you are replacing the old with a quality assembly, like this, or another piece of junk as comes with most sinks today. Some key points... make sure you have the correct wrench size prior to starting, a helper, and a good flashlight you do not have to hold to shed light on your work.... also, pay attention to how you run the hose so it does not become entangled in the water lines.... i.e. look at how the current hose runs. Hope this helps! My first install took 30 min. the 2nd & 3rd, less than 15min. each. **Q: Is the sprayer compatible with "design house 523225 oakmont kitchen faucet with sprayer with single handle, satin nickel finish"** A: This is chrome, not satin nickle. Other than that, it's a sprayer & hose. You'll need to make sure everything can thread together. I used a hose adapter, and added this to a stand-alone spray control.
