I was previously using a $10 map from Wally World, and I didn't realize how much my yoga mat would affect my practice.I'm fairly new to yoga, I'm 185ish lbs and 5'2, so curvier and hard on my joints, so my biggest needs were something that was non-slip and gave support for my wrists/knees.This mat is delightfully non-slip. Compared to what I was using, this thing is perfect. I always had an issue in downward facing dog where my wrists and my feet are slipping from underneath me, so getting something that was slip resistant was a must have. I also was concerned that by getting a thinner mat I was going to have less comfort on my joints, which is not the case! My other mat was twice the thickness and this new one blows it out of the water.There is a distinct smell when you get it out of the packaging. Just like a new plastic smell... It's not bad enough to knock it down a star in my opinion. Just noticeable.It has a carrying case and the strap, I don't drive or walk to any classes, so it's unnecessary for me... It says it sticks to wooden floor which I wanted since Where I live it’s not carpet.What I likeThe features are neat- Easy to clean- Grips to wooden floor without slip- no chemical odor upon first use- lightweight and easy to carry with carrying bag- comes with instructions on how to take care of the matDislikes- when I roll it back up it carries static- unless you roll up the mat extra tight it will not fit with the flimsy carry bag it provided- visibly see dust collecting from working outThe takeaway from this is I love the fact that it grips the floor with ease while I workout with burpees or jumping Jack, the mat will not move!Also the instructions to clean is very neat:2 Methods- clean with laundry detergent and water and wipe off with clean towel- toss it flat in your bath tub with warm water and vinegar.
