Review: Comparison to TireTek Premium Large dial (2-inch) gauge - I bought this and "TireTek Premium large dial gauge" that is couple of dollars cheaper than this one. Here is a comparison of these two side by side. Both gauges are way way better than the pencil type tire pressure gauges that I used to buy from Auto-parts stores locally. Both products produced NEARLY identical (but slightly different) pressure readings, when tested multiple times. Pros : This gauge gives more consistent readings than TireTek which would have small variations between readings (only about 0.2 PSI i would guess, but i liked the repeatability of this gauge). If i release some air using the pressure valve on this, the needle would immediately come and rest on the exact read (whereas the TireTek brand took 3 seconds to SLOWLY rise upto the proper reading). Longacre had more solid design and this was visible in the solid feel of the pressure release valve. The spring on Tiretek was not as good as the one on Longacre. The primary reason i decided to pick this over Tiretek was the hose, which made it lot easier to take readings compared to the "NO-hose" models. I can simply let the dial face rest on the floor, while i insert the other end into valve stem. There is 360 degree rotation of the end that will plug into the tire valve. Overall, this tire pressure gauge has a very solid feel to it, and you can sense that it will last many years. Well worth the extra couple of dollars, when i consider that this gauge has the solid feel of a life-time product. CONS : 1. Do not count on the glow-in-dark feature, which is very feeble - manufacturer could improve on this feature. 2. The clarity and separation of PSI markings in the dial are lot better on the TireTek when compared to this. I feel that the dial is a tiny bit smaller than TireTek, which had easy to read PSI markings (even though both are touted as 2-inch dials). Using both of these brand names, You can see and get upto 0.5 PSI accuracy, with less than 0.3 PSI margin of error in reading. The markings are only at 1 PSI levels, on both of these brand names. TireTek has very clear white background, whereas the dial background is not as good on this one (but still very readable). 3. You need to insert this into tire valve stem in one single fluid motion. If you hesitate or if you change directions during insertion, air will start leaking out of tire for couple of seconds, until you get proper seal. Whereas the TireTek Premium model did not leak air this much, and made proper seal instantly (once i got used it on two or three occasions/days). But this is something you will get used to and become familiar with, after few uses and hence is not a big problem, in my opinion. 4. Last but not least is the fact that pressure reading will not be "HELD" (or shown) once you remove this gauge from the tire. But TireTek model i got will "HOLD" the pressure reading even after it is removed from the tire, so that you can look at the reading at leisure. If this one feature is added to this model, Longacre gauge will be the best one in this price range and unbeatable in comparison. Overall, i am very happy that i spent the extra 3 dollars to get this brand over TireTek. For the price, this is the best one on desertcart.
Review: For the price, this is a good gauge (chose over similar Joe's Racing gauges) - -The hose is plenty flexible (not silicone floppy, but flexible enough and won't kink on itself). -The guage is easy to read, even though it's only 2" diameter (disclaimer: I have 20/20 vision). -The Presta valve adapter swivels (the gauge end is fixed). -All materials are good quality, especially for the price. -The glow-in-the-dark dial works very well (it is bright, charges easily and quickly from another light such as headlights, and retains its brightness for long enough to check all 4 tires). -The gauge is accurate and consistent. I tested this gauge against both of Joe's Racing analog gauges (32307 and 32317), and I prefer this one. The hose is more flexible than that of the 32317, but less flexible than that of the 32307--not that this really matters, as they're all just fine. The glow-in-the-dark dial works better than both of the JR dials, by a fair margin (brighter, whiter vs yellowish, stays charged longer, ...). Since it's a 2" diameter dial, vs the 2.5" of the JR dials, and since the numbers are boldfaced, rather than fine lined, it could be argued that the numbers are slightly harder to read (but no problem whatsoever for me, either way). All three of the gauges have adapters that are essentially the same; so, they all seal equally well, and all gauges come with the optional ball-gauge adapter and pressure release valve. The overall fit and finish of this gauge is a bit better than either the 32307 or the 32317. Perhaps most importantly, I did notice that the 32307 consistently read 1 psi below the Longacre and 32307, but the latter two were consistently the same. I assume that the 32307 I got was simply lacking in correct calibration. Finally, for what it's worth, the packaging of the Longacre gauge was nicer (plastic case vs shrink wrap to cardboard backing). As a final note, since none of these gauges come with a protective case, you may consider, as others have done, ordering a case such as the Caseling for Graphing Calculator Hard Carrying Travel Storage Case Bag.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Must Have Tool for Proper Tire Inflation
*by C***. on April 13, 2026*

A while back I purchased a Longacre tire pressure gauge after my mechanic suggested I stop using the sort of cheap plastic gauges you can buy in any auto store. Those gauges, while convenient and simple to use, are inaccurate. Same with the built-in gauge at your local service station air pump. Some are accurate, others not so much. And with fuel prices again on the rise you want to be sure your car or truck tires are properly inflated for maximum mileage. The Longacre Gauge is a good tool toward that end. It takes just a little practice to use properly. But once you get the hang of it you can be sure of proper air pressure in your auto tires, and better yet, it will help you save money at the fuel pump. Good idea to keep one in each vehicle you own.
