It came just under half full, up to the 4 mark on the side, there are 9 marks in total. Not sure if it would hold a 5kg bag if pet food.It seems to be sealed well and hopefully will keep the dog food fresh.I like that it's on little wheels so I can move it around my worktops to make cleaning easier.There is also a handy measuring cup, so if you are concerned about overfeeding your pets, you can easily weigh the correct amount of food and see how far up the cup it comes and then no more having to drag the scales out everyday.There's also a handy space on the top of the container to store the measuring cup with space for something like medication, vitamin drops, or a small tub of daily treats.
