After all, at a rated 7 watts, what's not to like about using only 20% of energy for the equivalent lighting.Alas, the light quality is not as pleasing even as it shines inside of a glass pendant lampshade. The light quality is harsher, and its lumen output does not seem as bright as advertised. Using my original 35 watt halogen bulb, I can easily read a newspaper that is 24' below the light.
