The bowls have a rubbery ring around the bottom so they don't slide on the floor while the cats are eating. They are made of metal so they can't break if I drop them. I've broken so many glass bowls over the years, it would have saved me a lot of money if I had purchased these first. The shallow depth allows me to squeeze them into the dishwasher wherever I have a little space before running the load. I use them to feed both canned and dry cat food. But due to Covid, I decided to get this on amazon instead. -1 star for false advertising, this isn’t one cup. My cat eats 3oz of food in the morning and another 3oz at night. the food barely fits 3oz of food. So if you’re looking for a bowl for a 5.5oz can, i would look elsewhere. -1 star for the price, this is definitely not a $3.50 bowl.That said, I wanted a small, shallow non skid bowl for my cat’s wet food, so the size wasn’t too important. It’s perfectly shallow and easy to lap out of, so that my cat won’t have to strain himself when eating.Another pro is that it’s easy to clean, the rubber skirt comes off and snaps back on easily.
