3M Scotchlok Moisture Guard Connector MGC offers a convenient solution to connect 2 or 3 wires when installing or repairing landscape, irrigation and outdoor lighting systems. The mineral oil based grease inside the UV-resistant connector protects against moisture.

It will take effort to snap closed (I used a rubber mallet and small board - not enough strength in my hands to squeeze and the tool made especially for these is too $$$). Note that no stripping is required! Plan to waste a few trying getting the hang of it and double check before you close them - not really made for reuse.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Can theae connect inline to the main? T-tap. Without cutting the main?**
A: No.  The main cable must be cut.

**Q: Can a 12 awg solid wire be inserted into the bigger hole?**
A: The description for these connectors says that it will accept 12 gauge wire.  we do not use anything bigger than 14 gauge so I don't know for sure.

**Q: Can the connectors be reused if silicone added?**
A: The gel isn't silicone. The connectors can be reopened but unless some dielectric gel squeezes out you risk the chance of water infiltration and thereby the integrity of the connector. I'd recommend discarding failed attempted connectors .. it's a guarantee that you'll mess-up the first few so get extras.

Best product available for landscape light wiring. Does the job right the first time. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Hack to make Wire insertion easier...

This Connector works very well once I figured out how to use it. I noticed that other users also had difficulty in inserting the wires into the connector. After struggling with the same issue on the first few wires, I sharpened each wire like a pencil with a utility knife and insertion was very easy. Yes, you need Channel Lock Pliers to Crimp it down all the way and make good connections. I also agree the Waterproof Gel does ooze out and make a mess. But, that is confirmation that you crimped the wires !
