With hot water being free, you can brew your own. The red lid does not screw on - just sits on top, so this is NOT a travel mug. The bean grinder might be too loud for sitting at your desk area, but you can use ground coffee too. Great for camping or on the go. Very sturdy, compact. Everything screws together as one unit for storage, but the red lid doesn't attach and can be lost if you don't watch it - but it really has no use in operation.To brew, pour water slowly a little at a time. I just dumped the grinds in the hot water and let them steep and then poured in the strainer. Espresso will take forever... I wish there was a cover so you could just blast thru the grinding it's the hardest part.
