Plus my husband wants our dogs to sleep with us. Our elderly dog is just fine loose at night, but the young pup is not to be trusted. We’ve used small hard plastic travel crates before, but as he got bigger I went looking for something a little bigger but that would not take up too much space. When I saw this I realized it might mitigate some of the noise of the plastic/metal crates that rattle and bang on the wall when he moves around. It really does, and the dome shape gives him a ton more space across the floor to spread out. I don’t really like how noisy the zipper is when I get him out in the morning while my husband sleeps but he says he has not noticed it. I plan to buy a better pad for the bottom. The one it comes with is kind of flimsy and keeps shedding fur bits when he digs - plus I am afraid it will fall apart in the wash. But otherwise this is very sturdy. I was a little worried about him scratching at the mesh and tearing it, but so far after a couple of months I see no damage at all from his pawing. I would definitely buy this again.
