The lamp was shipped with an APC brand constant-current power supply, which in my estimation was the right way to go. One should note however that this power supply is not "instant on", so there may be a couple of second delay between switch activation and lamp illumination. This is a minor quibble however as the lamp is very bright and only uses half the power of the already efficient circline fluorescent lamp it replaced. If I had to ask for anything different it would be for a lower color temperature LED option. The 4100K is just too "cool" for my bedroom application where I installed it in a Hunter fan. It's fine for a bathroom perhaps, but it's a little harsh in other living spaces. I've had the unit around a month now, and so far I am quite satisfied. It seems to be a well-built product. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Lots of light *by R***M on Reviewed in the United States on December 3, 2013* I retrofitted a fluorescent fixture with a hard to find double circline bulb and ballasts that regularly needed replaced ( ungrounded) with this 8" and a 12" LED circline. It wasn't difficult. Each bulb is shipped with its own AC to DC converter. These could both be hidden in the base of the fixture. The resulting light is "hot" at 4100K -- very bright and a bit "harsh" like an office environment, even under a shade -- but that's just fine for my home office. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great light, much brighter and clearer than the florescent tube it replaced *by A***. on Reviewed in the United States on November 21, 2015* Great light, much brighter and clearer than the florescent tube it replaced in my magnifier.
