Cal Tiffin SQUARE Bento Box lunch container (2-compartment, 25oz) - Made in India

Little hard to open for my 6 year old but works great for my older son. Love that you can fit a sandwich and a little snack on the upper tray. Easy to clean.

Love the boxes and healthy non plastic option for kids lunches. I have 2 of these and the latch on one broke in the first month. Ithet than that they are dishwasher safe and wash well , no cracks in metal .

Purchased these a month ago and love them! I’m using them to pack lunch for a kindergartener and they (along with the 3 set Cal Tiffin stainless steel round containers) have helped us eliminate ziploc bags! A few things to know...if you buy the larger size bread (Pepperidge Farm Farmhouse brand), a full sandwich will not fit in these but if you’re using standard size bread (like Wonder bread size), it’ll be fine. Also, notice that this set is made to be stacked together. The clips on side the don’t work if you’re trying to just use one of the sandwich sized boxes. I get around this by using the middle sandwich box, the lid and putting a rubber band on top. But if course these means my hubby cannot use the other sandwich box for his lunch (there is only 1 lid in the set). If you use the whole stack of 3, it will fit in a standard reusable lunch box (fabric kind) but you’ll have to zip it carefully. I definitely would not use these for anything liquid. I thought I would tired of washing them every day but honestly they are so easy to clean it takes only 1-2 minutes. Used them almost every day for a month and they look brand new. The quality of the stainless steel is excellent. This set, along with the round containers, is great for cutting down on plastic and waste! Would buy again.

The media could not be loaded.  I’m so glad I bought this. I’ve been searching high and low for a stainless steel bento box for my son, but they all cost an arm and a leg. I bought two other stainless steel ones from other brands (one cheap off-brand, and the other was a more expensive name brand) but I returned them, but this one solves my issues I had with the others:The two bentos that I tried before had one tier and used dividers to separate the inside of the box into several compartments. The walls of the dividers didn’t meet the lid when the box was closed, which allowed small foods like Cheerios to escape into other compartments. It also meant that any moisture from one food would reach the food in every compartment and we’d end up with stale, banana-flavored crackers. I LOVE that the two compartments in this bento box are completely separate.My next issue is how deep the other brands’ boxes were. There was no point in using my silicone cupcake liners to separate foods, because as soon as I put the box into a backpack, the food would be all over the place. The lid of the bottom compartment in this Cal Tiffin box perfectly meets the top of the cupcake liner and keeps any food from shifting around. It’s very high quality, easy to clean, durable for backpacks and purses, won’t mold, and free of plastic chemicals.You won’t regret this!!!

We bought 2 of these double stacked Cal Tiffin square containers to send our children's lunches in for school. They aren't all that we'd hoped for in a reuseable container, especially for the price. Our biggest complaint is that the compartments do not meet at the same angle in the corners and have gaps that allow food crumbs and drips out and air in. The sandwich bread is a little dry on the outside when our kids get to lunch and if we pack appleslices the juice slowly leaks out of the gaps and gets all over the kids lunch bags and everything in them. I fully understand that this is not meant for liquids and is not sold as leak-proof, but the gaps are a total inconvenience and we end up having to wrap our kids foods and then put them into the compartments, which defeats the original purpose for buying this to get away from waste and plastic wraps. I believe the gaps are a design flaw that could very easily be fixed, however I have reached out to Cal Tiffin twice about this and have never received a response.PROS-Very study; seem like they'll stand up to a beating from kidsGood amount of space in the 3 separate compartmentsSide closure clamps keep the unit securely togetherCONS-Heavier that expectedKids have trouble with the clamps (though with practice this has gotten easier for them)Compartments don't sit together properly at corners, which allows air in and food particles out.

Easy to clean

I love this box. My kids love this box. I bought 2, one for each kiddos lunch. They've been using them everyday for about a month. No complaints. Super easy to wash. No hard to clean small cracks and crevices like we had with plastic containers. I hate plastic. I went back and forth over buying these because of the cost, but I'm glad I did. They are so worth it. Now I will say, that when I received them initially the latches were either too tight or too loose and I had to use some elbow grease (and plyers) to GENTLY bend them to my will. But once I did that I haven't had one single issue with the latches since. Only other con is that the bottom section could be slightly deeper in my opinion. My kids usually put a sandwich in the bottom and it's great for a pb&j or just a little meat and cheese sandwich, but if you like a nice grown up sandwich with lettuce and tomatoes and whatnots, you will likely end up with smashed bread which then will stick to the bottom of the middle section essentially ruining your amazing sandwich. Sad face. I still have no regrets and I foresee these boxes lasting quite a long time! I just hope my kids never accidentally lose them.

The fit of the pieces is very inconsistent. Not only are they not watertight, but there are huge gaps at the corners of the trays. Overall very disappointing for the price.
