Cal Tiffin OVAL Bento lunch container (3-compartment, 40 oz)

The media could not be loaded.  I noticed many of the reviews are written by parents who purchased this for their young kids — FYI I’m a 25yo working woman and I just love my Cal Tiffin!For me personally, it fits the perfect amount of food, easy to clean and maintain, its plastic free, and it’s quick to spot in the fridge.I mainly use mine for work, so if I need to reheat, I just transfer the food to a paper plate, and I’m on my way.I’ve had mine since Dec 2018 and it’s still in mint condition. I look forward to trying the 3 layer bento box — and hopefully replacing all of my partners glass lock containers with Cal Tiff!

I read all the raving reviews, and thought it'd be an awesome product.It's decent quality stainless steel, and that's really what I wanted. My kids have been using it almost every day. It might take a little effort at first for lil hands to open and close, but once they get used to it, its fine. I've put in in the dishwasher bottom rack and top rack, and it's easy to take care of.But my main problem with it is that the lid doesn't close snugly! It just sits on top and the snaps keep it closed. So its not even a lil bit spill proof. Even the pasta sauce spills out, dirtying their lunch bags!As long as I give them sandwiches or other dry food, it's OK, but anything even semi solid, like pasta with marinara - total mess!So just keep this in mind when you order it though. I ended up buying another spill proof container for pastas and other gravy type foods.

I have had several lunch containers including yumbox and lunchbots but this one is my absolute favorite. I stopped using Yumbox as it is plastic and I am trying to switch from plastic to Stainless Steel lunch container. I had Lunch Bots Trio, but it cannot fit a full Sandwich. I like this one. I can fit a full sandwich or rice/pasta dishes in the bottom container and crackers/fruit in the top tray. It is made of very high quality stainless steel and the design is functional and beautiful.My elementary schooler likes this a lot. It has been going into the dishwasher on daily basis for couple of weeks now and is holding up almost as new! I am going to order a couple of spares for home use and for the eventuality when the container does not make it back home from school, which is sadly a common occurrence with my kiddos. Gladly this one is far reasonably priced than a Lunchbots or a Eco lunchbox, with better quality to boot.

I have been using this for couple of months now. This container has high quality craftsmanship and feels very well made. I have both the LunchBot and Planet Box before getting this one. Cal Tiffin lunchbox definitely seems to have higher quality stainless steel, while being lighter. I love that I don't have to spend an arm and a leg to get a sustainable and healthy lunch container for my kids. I like the idea of not having to buy the containers with an accompanying bag too since I have so many lunch bags already. The stackable format here is ideal for separating food and having a bigger quantity of the food. I use the bottommost section to put the biggest portion, the main entree like fried rice, fried noodle, etc, and the middle section to put a healthy entree side like vegetable. The top section (the 3rd section) is good for snacks, like seaweed or cereals.Do note that you must pack all 3 sections for the latch to work, so you can't remove the top tray to get more space for the middle section.

This is a nice bento box, the only thing I would want different is to not have to use the second tray if you didn't want to, but you cannot close the lid if you do not, so even if it is not being used, it has to go in there. Sometimes you might need a bit more room, and you do not have that option. However it is a nice bento.

Very nice, stainless steel lunch box. I've been using this item for several weeks. No spills or leaks...It seals everything really well! There really are 3 compartments in this item. Although, the top compartment is small (not visible in the photo), this compartment is very handy for crackers, condiments and/or thin slices of lemon/lime or thin slices of bread. The two bottom compartments are great for separating salad from the main meal. I like this item, a lot, and highly recommend it!

I purchased this bento box for a recent travel out of state. I packed a salad, fruits and a grilled cheese and it all fit well. Once at the airport, I was a bit nervous, however, it pass the TSA screening. It is also lightweight and it fits into a carry on well. Word of advise, and please read, it is not leak proof. It leaked the juices from the fruit, put I was prepared. This bento box is definitely my go to box while traveling.

My son uses this bento box every day. He doesn't like sandwiches or cold lunches. While this metal container isn't insulated I think it still holds in heat better than a plastic Rubbermaid or Sistema container. A small slice of pizza fits in well. This lunchbox is not leakproof, however. When I pack a couple of juicy sparerib or pasta w/rotisserie chicken & some chicken juice as my son likes, I always find some liquid excaped into his lunchbox. After a few months of use, one of the two latches got a little loose. It's probably an easy fix but I couldn't fiure it out. I just put a thick rubberband around the container and all is still good. I bought a new bento box + another for daughter too to start the school year.. These boxes wash very easily manually but I also love that they can go in the dishwasher. I'm pretty happy with this tin.

I received this stainless steel bento box, but haven't used it for my son's lunches yet. My first impression was that it was smaller than I expected and too pricey for the size. It looks good, and I think it would hold a small salad and a few toppings on the top tray. For a growing teenager, or an adult it's not big enough to pack a good hearty salad, and extra toppings. I'll post an update once we get to use it.

Super bueno, ya tengo como 5 de estos y se usan todos los días. Los mando a un fonda local y así me mandan la comida SIN empaques desechables. Ampliamente recomendables

El broche de un lado no cierra bien, al leer comentarios veo que lo presentan será defecto de fábrica.

Bueno pero podría ser mejor. Aunque el producto coincide con la descripción sería mejor si las palancas para cerrar la caja estuvieran más ajustadas.

Me vino con un broche un poco flojo nada que yo no pueda arreglar, pero dejando eso de lado la lonchera se ve de muy buena calidad, un poco pequeña midan bien antes de comprar
