desertcart.com: Soggy Doggy Dog Door Mat – Large Absorbent Chenille Microfiber Dog Rug for Muddy Paws, Wet Dogs & Entryway Floors, Non-Slip Backing, Machine Washable Doormat – Chocolate/Oatmeal Bone, 26” x 36” : Pet Supplies

Review: Good Looking, Washable Rug - This is a great rug. It's big enough to serve as our main rug in the living room, which gives our dog some traction when we want to play tug and such (our hardwood floors are too slippery for our pup who has hip dysplasia). Style-wise, while it's no Crate and Barrel rug, it is surprisingly elegant looking. It's got its own grip-back, so you don't need a separate under mat. Which is super handy. The best part is that it's machine washable. If it gets dirty or the dog has an accident (it's going to happen when you adopt a rescue or get a puppy), we just toss it in the wash and we're done. PROS: - Good looking: the beige color makes it very versatile. Though, note that it has a big red bone pattern on it! So it's a giveaway that we are a dog family. - The Faux-Shag microfiber gives it a real retro-chic look. - Self-gripping. Don't need a rug-mat underneath it. - Provides traction for my dog when we play tug, or if she wants to hop on the couch. - Machine washable. Can't say that enough. If you've had to clean up doggy-accidents on a non-washable rug, you know what I mean. CONS: - It's still just a fabric rug, so you're not going to have the firmness of a heavy, thick wool rug - sometimes the edges flip up, and you do need to straighten it every once in awhile. For me, that's not a problem, but I did want to note it. - Takes a long time to dry: it's microfiber, so it holds a lot of water. After you've run it through the wash, make sure you set it to run in the dryer for a good long time. I run the dryer on the towel setting, and it's fine. But if you're running it on medium for 45 minutes, it will still be quite damp. Overall: fantastic rug if you have dogs. I liked it so much, I also got the doormat for the front and back doors, and the slobber mat to put under the water bowl (our dog's a splashy drinker...)
Review: Great absorbent rug. - I'll preface that I live in the Pacific NW, it rains all winter here, and our yard is pretty much mud. This rug is great for absorbing everything my dogs' muddy paws can offer and the large size ensures human feet and animal paws all have enough space to dry off when we come in the door. My trick is to have the dogs come in and then sit on the rug while I give them a treat; this sitting time lets the backs of their legs and their butts get dried off (our dogs have fluffy pants). The dogs also love sleeping on the rug; it's soft and plush. I wasn't crazy about the bone design, as I don't understand why animal home products/decor must have animal-themed prints/designs on them, but I've grown used to it and don't mind it considering the rug does a good job helping to keep my floors clean. I've owned this rug for a little over a month and only saw it shed a little the first day or two it was down. The shedding only came from the white bone design. The rug can move around some if your dogs wrestle on it or if you accidentally shuffle into it. The backing is rubbery to kind of help the rug stay in place, but I was legitimately thinking of adhesing or velcroing it to the floor (we have wood floors that need to be refinished). The rug is heavy though, so it's own weight does help keep the rug mostly in place. I've shaken the rug outside to clean off any debris and amazingly that works really well. I have not tried vacuuming it, but have not found a need as the shaking off works so well. I've owned many rugs that had to be vacuumed or washed to get cleaned off, and this is not one of them. I even have the dark brown color and there isn't any leftover debris/dog hair/etc. that sticks to make the rug look bad. I do believe that washing is necessary though to clean out the absorbing fibers. After a month of use, I'm finding the absorbency has gone down and when my dogs step off the rug there are wet footprints being left on the floor, which had previously been taken care of by the rug. I'll report back once I've washed it to update how it holds up in the wash. UPDATE: The rug has been washed many times without further shedding or general deterioration. The white bone pattern is now kind of speckled dalmation style as the white fibers and brown fibers have intermingled with wear and washing. I still like the rug and don't feel it detracts. The rug does not seem to absorb as well as it did with its first use. It is still absorbent, but I do need to wash more frequently now to get the fibers cleaned and regain that absorbency again. Initially I got away with not washing for a month, and now weekly or bi-weekly washings would be better.

## Features

- ULTRA ABSORBENT DOG DOORMAT FOR MUDDY PAWS – Designed for wet dogs and messy entryways, this chenille microfiber dog mat absorbs up to 5x its weight in water, dirt, and snow to help keep floors clean. Ideal for doorways, garages, and high-traffic pet areas, this absorbent dog rug traps moisture and debris from paws before it spreads across hardwood, tile, or carpet.
- FAST DRYING MICROFIBER REDUCES ODOR BUILDUP – Engineered with high-density chenille fibers that dry quickly, this dog door mat helps prevent damp conditions that can lead to unwanted pet odors. Perfect for rainy days, snow, or bath time, this machine washable dog rug maintains freshness between uses and supports a cleaner home environment.
- NON SLIP BACKING FOR SECURE FLOOR GRIP – Built with a durable anti-slip backing, this dog mat stays in place even with active dogs running in and out. - MULTI PURPOSE DOG MAT FOR ENTRYWAY, CRATE OR KENNEL – Versatile design works as an indoor door mat, dog crate mat, kennel pad, or floor towel for wet paws. Variety of sizes offer full coverage for entry points, and makes it ideal for small, medium, and large dogs that track in water, mud, or snow after outdoor activity.
- SOFT CHENILLE COMFORT WITH DURABLE CONSTRUCTION – Plush “noodle” microfiber texture is gentle on paws while built to handle repeated daily use. Maintains absorbency and structure after multiple washes without flattening. Neutral color designs blend with any home décor while providing a functional, comfortable space for dogs to rest or dry off.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: What is the best way to wash microfiber chenille?**
A: Machine wash seperately in cool water. Use regular detergent. Dry on low heat (NO fabric softener, NO bleach) And if you're washing a doormat, make sure to fold it in half so the no-slip side is pressed together and protected from the agitator.

**Q: How absorbent are Soggy Doggy microfiber mats and towels?**
A: The doormats soak up 5x more water than standard mats and the Super Shammy towel can hold 7x its weight in water! That's why one size dries all - even the biggest of the big pups!

**Q: Will the doormat and Slopmat stay in place?**
A: Absolutely. Large and XL doormats have a TPR backing for extra weight and no-slip traction. The Slopmat has a clear SEBS synthetic rubber spray applied to the backside for stay-put hold.

**Q: What sizes are available and which one is right for my pet?**
A: Soggy Doggy mats, towels, beds, and Crate Mates come in a variety of sizes to suit small, medium, and large dogs. Always look at size charts on the listings to ensure you are purchasing the correct size for your need.

**Q: Are these products only for dogs, or can I use them elsewhere?**
A: While designed with pets in mind, many customers use Soggy Doggy mats in other high-traffic or wet areas. The quick-drying microfiber absorbs water, snow, and mud from shoes just as effectively as from paws, making them a versatile solution.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ LOVE it! Great product!!
*by L***Y on July 23, 2013*

Didn't believe it until we got one, but now we are firm believers! These things are great! They are soft and so much better than a rug! They do trap dirt and water from the dogs' feet as they come in the door. My floor does stay cleaner with this in front of the door. Dogs also love them, and actually like to lay on them because they are so soft and cushiony. They can be thrown in the washer and dryer - but beware - they are heavy and take a long time to dry in the dryer, even when in there by themselves, because they absorb so much water. Great product, we are very happy with ours and will probably get a couple more.
