Why I think it is better than the Tomcat like-product is because the Tomcat release mechanism broke on 2x units (identically) after one use each, whereas this trap worked flawlessly and reset flawlessly after use. They have been tripped multiple times, but they obviously are not strong enough to do any damage to the rats and mice that trip them. I decided to get some more to put in other locations around our property and tried to save some money by buying these Swtroom traps. But it turns out, I wasted my money on these cheap knock-offs.
