I asked my son and husband to pick up a small turkey for Thanksgiving. They came home with a 25-pound bird. I searched for large pans, but none of them had a reasonable price. I found this one, and the turkey fit in it, and the lid almost covered it completely. The cooked turkey turned out very tasty, and the cleanup was easy due to the coating.

The roaster was bought as a replacement to the similar roaster that became weak on the bottom of the roaster due to overuse. It was nice to see that this same type of enamel roaster is available, as many do not have the same speckled finish, nor does it have a domed lid like this one. The size is the medium roaster that is perfect for baking a roast with vegetables. It is lightweight, and not bulky to lift out of the oven. The only flaw is that the rim around the lid is sharp and care must be used when wiping the lid.

I bought this roaster to bake my sourdough bread in and it works perfectly!! I have been using my Dutch oven, which is great, but it is so heavy. This roaster is so much more manageable.

. . . not entirely with the same results as a Dutch oven or covered cast iron.The metal doesn’t hold the heat the same, and the results do differ. I mailed this to family that I was visiting so I’d be able to bake them the famous no-knead carb magic. The loaves were great, but not quite as fabulous as I make at home.They didn’t know the difference, I did. Not entirely sure what else one does with this — as I don’t eat meat, not a roaster, but I have this for backup. I’ll put it in the suitcase for my next visit, and be happy with that.Solid replacement, but not the same. Good for a budget and if you have poor arm strength.

*I Really Don't See The Review Gripes About This Roaster* - Having said that, I've had this roasting pan since about 2015. It's alive and still kicking, as for the scrapes and dents there must be other heavier pots in the cabinet causing this. My roasting pan arrived dent free without any scratches. I even clean it with steel wool! I have done so for almost 10 years! Still the coating remains intact. What I will say is that it's not the heaviest roasting pan in the world -- it's lightweight at best. I'll also add that the lid is just a tad too small and it must be placed exactly right in order not to fall into the roaster. Mind you I purchased this with a gift card so I paid absolutely NOTHING for it. I just haven't had the same experiences as others that have purchased this product. Keep the roaster away from heavier pots and pans that can cause dents and scrapes. If it's your utensils consider purchasing silicone or wood to prevent scratches and scrapes. As a roaster it's a 15incher that means it's for smaller chickens, ducks, and baby turkeys. If you're trying to make this a Thanksgiving Turkey Roaster you're out of luck I'm afraid. This roaster is space saving and meant for people that have smaller cooking needs or those with limited kitchen space.
