I believe some of the other reviewers missed the extreme importance of this lecture. It was not meant to try and sooth our wounded spirits / childhoods, it was aimed at showing us the importance of learning about our own souls. If you get turned off by Caroline Myss' directness, and get your perception of the message turned to only the way the messenger delivers -- then the concept has gone over your head.I have read and listened to most of Ms. Myss's work... she is direct but I did not take anything she said personally. Most of us do view the world through our wounded child and expect more understanding from her since she is the one that introduced us to Archetypes and how they function in our lives.I have to think that with the research, the studying, the writing, and the lecturing that Caroline Myss has done over the years - along with being a Medical Intuitive, that the Divine (God, Saints, Angels, etc.) have been aware of her for quite some time. They chose their time and their need to contact her to give their message(s) to the rest of the world. I did not receive the perception that she was "bragging" about being contacted by St. Teresa of Avila - how could anyone relate being contacted by a Saint or an Angel without another perceiving it to be bragging (jealousy or envy of her maybe?).Anyway, I agree with those reviewers who did get the wonderful message here. That there is hope for redemption - that we can pull ourselves out of our sinful ways and bring hope to others. Growing our way through the Castle is a huge goal - one that will take listening to these CD's over and over again. Caroline has a lot to teach us and she has devoted her life to doing so. Concentrate on the message and not so much in how the messenger feels she has to deliver it. This could not have been an easy course to deliver - so give her another chance.I shied away from purchasing the book when it was first published - it seemed way above where I was at in my spiritual life and I was intimidated by it -- but after listening to the CD's I have now purchased the book and plan to study this in more depth.Don't give up - listen and read all that you can. Caroline Myss is a wonderful teacher and she has done her homework - you can trust in that. Next time, try a prayer before listening / reading this material, that you will concentrate on the message / lessons more.... Go for it! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Powerful Teachings Overpowering Delivery *by B***R on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on March 30, 2007* Like many of the other reviewers, I am an avid consumer of Caroline Myss' work. I appreciate her visionary grasp on what is possible when we allow ourselves to not only touch the soul but be guided by it.That said, I was a bit taken aback by this series and not certain how to respond them. Caroline has always been a critic of self-serving New Age beliefs and practices, but in this CD set she launches a no holds barred attack on not only those teachings, but on those who follow them. At several points she not only scolds but demands that people "Grow up!" and "Stop being a baby!". Personally, I agree with most of her assessment. I've traveled in New Age circles for quite some time, and even though I find much of it helpful, there is an infantilizing, victim-glorifying, self-serving element to many of the teachings and therapies that seem to encourage people to, as Caroline says, "lead with their wounds". However, Caroline's delivery of this message is so berating and punitive at times it's startling. In an odd way, her Dr. Laura-esque style is probably appealing to the forever "wounded" crowd, because it fits well into the "wounding" paradigm. Caroline's message on this is a powerful and necessary counterbalance to all of the materialistic fluff we're getting overloaded with due to "The Secret" and other "enlightenment and fulfillment in three easy steps" methods. It's a shame that her approach is so alienating.However, once you dig underneath the berating words, there are real nuggets of wisdom here. This is a CD set I will turn to again and again because, as always, Caroline's insightful understanding of spiritual development rings true down to my bones. She wants to bring reverence, respect, and devotion back to spiritual development and practice and this is a laudable mission. The path she recommends is arduous and the immediate rewards few and fleeting, but what else would you expect from a journey to your soul?I will say however, that I will think twice before signing up for one of her workshops for this. Before I bought this set from Amazon, I read all of the previous reviews and read that some reviewers felt that Caroline was rude or harsh. (I did not agree with some of the below poor reviews. Why? After listening to Caroline Myss on HayHouse Radio and on many of her previous CD's, I found Ms. Myss a very inpsiring and enlightening teacher. This CD set and also the book are for people that who are seeking serious spiritual enlightment and want to go on a very deep spiritual journey of the soul. After listening to many of her works, including Entering the Castle, I believe that she is very serious and dedicated to her work. Because she is so very passionate about her work, she has such deep feeling and expresses this passion in all of her lectures/CD's, including this one. For me, I love it that she is so very emphatic and direct in her delivery of her message on the CD's. That for me, is necessary for my SOUL and HIGHER SELF to listen and so that my spiritual journey is a wonderful change for the better. This teaching on these CD's are not just to listen to once and forget, they are meant to be listened to many times so you can better your soul. The Castle CD's are her best so far, and I will listen to them again for my soul's growth.
