For people that ride road bike, the ones at the padding of the thumb and the edge are crucial, and these did their job well. I had no hand fatigue or soreness. The gel is in just the right spot at the thumb pad when in the forward position and extra thick at the edge for holding the bars in the upright position. THE MAKE: The gloves feel solidly made. The palm isn't real leather. But it feels like a well made synthetic leather. The back, as I mentioned, is a breathable stretchy fabric, nylon or some synthetic material, but all the stitching is double stitching and all in all feel very solid. Plus, the finger loops, er pulls... The things between the fingers make it so easy to remove the gloves without having to twist and crumple them up, that I think they will last significantly longer than some of my previous gloves have. I tend to wear out a set of gloves in 6 to 8 months. I get the feeling these will make it longer. SUM TOTAL: These feel like great gloves. They fit nicely, work nicely and seem to be made nicely.
