These are great, WIDE straws! If you're just drinking water, prepare for large gulps--but you get used to it quickly. It's a great way to drink a LOT of water! If you're drinking smoothies (or something with a similar consistency) it's GREAT! Very easy to clean. We just put it through the dishwasher on the top rack. If we've had a smoothie, we rinse it out right away when we're done, and then through the dishwasher when it's time to run it again.
