## Description

Flat fillets of anchovies in soya oil. Product picture in stock may vary. Product of Morocco, Peru or Chile.

Review: Delicious! - Love the anchovies. I pour it into a large glass bowl with lid. Add a quart of sugar water and let it cure for 2, 3 days. I also add a few bay leaves for perfect taste. Perfect for Scandinavian sandwiches! Absolutely delicious!
Review: Not bad considering the price. - We've sampled varied brands of anchovies, many of which are sold through desertcart. Some folks believe that soya oil is a non-starter as a packing medium (that's what these are packed in) but we've found Chilean and Morocco brands packed in soya oil as well as sunflower oil to be excellent. So the packing medium is not necessarily at issue. We believe it's simply the processing, storage, and handling that may make the difference. These were OK as an additive to a salad or pizza but, on their own, had a rather flat flavor. Not bad but flat. For about the same price, the Spanish packed Roland brand sold through desertcart seems to be consistently good..though they are packed in standard olive oil

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great value

My wife and I eat anchovies by the pound. No, not on pizzas or in salads only. While we agree that these (Moroccan) anchovies do not match in taste the Spanish anchovies from Calabria, we both think that these anchovies are great. The taste is right. They taste a little saltier than calabrian anchovies, which suggests they stayed in salt for a bit longer, but the salt content (according to the label) is actually slightly lower than the salt content of the calabrian anchovies. The soy oil is not a problem and it is light enough so as not to make a difference, compared to similar (Moroccan) anchovies packed in olive oil. You may find bones too, but as I said these anchovies seemed to have been kept in salt a little longer so the bones are almost dissolved. The price is outstanding - 730 g of these anchovies cost less than 55 g of Ortiz anchovies. I recommend these anchovies wholeheartedly.
