There are far better meat alternatives for that purpose. Tofurky makes a variety of chik’n strips that sell in the refrigerated section of your market for about $4 a box which has to be at least 8oz, so 8 times the amount in one of these packages. Plus, for soups and stews you might want a more subtle base flavor you can season yourself, though they do have flavored versions. Butlers Soy Curls are another good option for soup/stew meat alternatives. Also, check out textured vegetable protein for things like chili, sloppy joe, and taco meat. If you’re adventurous, you can also get some of the Taiwanese vegan meats. They are often sold in bags as dry soya chunks. You hydrate them like a dried mushroom before cooking or just add dry to your soup and let them hydrate in there. These are too expensive in such tiny packs and probably highly, and specifically, seasoned to taste like jerky. **Q: How long is the shelf life for this jerky?** A: The variety pack I just received says "Best Before Jan 31 2023". I don't know the manufacture date but considering the product just launched last month I'd say shelf life is somewhere between 9 months to a year. **Q: Why were my packages filled will white mold?** A: Maybe there was an issue with where the product was stored in the Amz warehouse?! Unfortunately, most of the meatless jerky I’ve tried taste like plastic. But not this beyond meat jerky! There’s so much taste and it’s not weird to chew on. Compared to other brands of Vegan Jerry, this is the closest to the real thing! Doesn't taste like dog food! Texture is a but softer than regular jerky but the tastes us phenomenal.I was a jerky nut before being vegan and this has definitely satisfied one of the few pre-vegan needs that I have been longing.2. The price point for this being a vegan jerky is not so bad. I'm used to paying a premium for a Taiwanese brand which was the closest jerky for me until this one at about $6 and some change for 3.5oz. With free shipping and one One Day deliver with Prime, this levels the cost if not be even cheaper.It also comes in its own Beyond Meat Jerky.CONS:1. While price was a pro amongst other vegan jerkys, it is still quite high compared to meat jerkys per ounce and may be off putting for some that want to try it. I'm hoping it goes to around $1.40 eventually.I also understand since it is vegan, there are costs for research and many other costs that need to be off-setted.Still, this is a really good price for vegans. Hopefully it becomes a mainstream competitor. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ The larger bags have better "meatyness" and larger peices *by B***E on August 17, 2022* I am a big fan of Beyond Meat. They truly have revolutionized the market. I do use their products although I am not a huge fan of meat - even faux - most meals are without any "substitutes". I have tried the big bags of this jerky - got it from a local pharmacy so thought I would try these smaller bags in two flavors. I do enjoy a good jerky when I have a hankering.But I noticed that these smaller bags are VERY different from the big giant bag. First the meat is meatier and a bit moist in the big bag. The smaller bags are VERY dry. The larger bags have LARGE pieces of meat. The smaller bags have just smaller pieces of meat. I am also not a huge fan of the Teriyaki flavor - mush prefer the original here. And if you knew me - you would know that is weird as I love Teriyaki. Here the Teriyaki is MUCH tougher to eat and chew - far too much of a chore.So huge fan of the brand but will exclusively stick to the larger bags going forward.
