It is extremely loud, to the point I bought a quieter one for backyard training sessions. This thing is great for field work, especially if your dog gets far from you, but I find it too loud for my primary training whistle. I keep one on my lanyard in case the dog runs to the next county, but for 95 percent of the training, I use the softer Acme 211.5 whistle.
