My 2012 Ram 2500 has a factory hitch assembly with both wiring applications . I had to buy a "4 PRONG " extender from AMAZON to hook it up . Hope this helps . If you don't want an ugly wire over your rear bumper I suggest getting a wire lug extension to keep your rear plug stock but allow for it to extend underneath and tie wrap the wiring behind the bumper. **Q: Will this fit for a 2011 ram 1500 longhorn Laramie?** A: If your 2011 had a 4 pin plug & trailer hitch....then yes it will work. If you don't have a 4pin, then you'd need an adapter (4 pin to round).
