I am only about 30 miles from the transmitters, but it is looking through a solid wall of oak trees across the street from where it is mounted. In the worst kind of rain and lightning storm we have, I usually have an occasional pixelation and have never completely lost the picture feed. It is mounted 18' above the ground, wired with quad copper RG-6 and is grounded back to the electrical service ground rod. The power supply for the internal amp gives you two outputs that are easily split to supply signal to at least 4 televisions, if you want. The Televes antennas are well worth the price. **Q: What is the max and min temperatures the power unit can be exposed to. i ask for i would like to install in the attic.** A: Depends on what you are calling the power unit, and what you will be installing in the attic. I do not know the maximum temperature the pre-amp in the eleves antenna can withstand if you are planning to install the antenna in your attic. I haven't tried installing the televes antenna in the attic. I did try an attic installation with a winguard antenna and preamp... it worked for a few months, then couldn't receive anything watchable. I never determined the cause behind this change. There is no need to install the indoor power unit in the attic ... it should be installed in whatever room has the outlet for the antenna cable. **Q: what does channel numbers mean? why would an antenna have channel numbers? does it have a built in tuner? it says 29 channels on description?** A: antennas are built to pick up specific channels(frequencies), this particular antenna picks up Channels 7-36 (Hi-band VHF/UHF channels) these are just the frequencies involved, not the actual channel that your TV displays.
