Fits well and has pretty substantial stretch so could accommodate a range of sizes. Falls just below my knee (I am 5'7") and has a nice classic look to it without being matronly or boring. Overall, would absolutely recommend!The nitty gritty: First of all, I am a bigger gal - generally I wear an 18 in dresses, though I sometimes size up to a 20 to give the ladies some room. If I wear heavy duty shapewear (read: steel boned corset) I can sometimes get away with a 16 provided there is stretch in the chest area. I am 5'7" and short waisted, and carry most of my weight evenly, though I am ever so slightly heavier through the upper arms and torso. I ordered this in an XXL, and have worn it with and without shapewear just fine, though I prefer the silhouette I got with a corset on (picture includes corset).I bought this dress along with several others for an event I had to attend and this was the clear winner. I wanted something relatively modest, that gave me some arm coverage and didn't make me look like a bridesmaid or the mother of the bride. This dress ticked all the boxes - the dress has plenty of stretch so it accommodated my DDD breasts just fine (though I did wear a minimizer bra). I also had no problems with my upper arms, which can sometimes be a problem for me. The lace is soft, not scratchy, and feels pretty sturdy. It is also not overly shiny (at least in the black version) like some cheap lace can be. The bodice and skirt of the dress are quite a heavy material, almost scuba-like - I would not wear this in the middle of summer sans air conditioning as I am certain I would be sweating like a streetwalker in church. However, for a fall wedding this was perfect. The cut was very flattering, the skirt had excellent twirlibility (hey, it's a bonus, okay?), and I got tons of compliments.The only cons (and I am being nit picky here) - the zipper is a little cheap. Not enough that I worried about it breaking but it was a little tough to get zipped into place despite me having plenty of room in the dress. The back opening is a smidge low. I don't think most people (especially those in the smaller sizes) would have any issues, but as a busty gal some of my bras have enough hooks that they come up a little too high in the back - I had to make sure that I chose one that scooped a bit lower. Lastly, I would have LOVED pockets in the dress, but I am just a sucker for pockets. I knew when I ordered it it didn't have them, I just think they would have been a nice touch. I usually don’t write reviews, but if anyone else is an overanalyzer and can’t make decisions like me, then I hope this review helps. This dress is extremely classy while that tiny bit of vintage feel to it.For reference, I am a 14/16 but leaning more towards a 16 LOL For tops, I wear an XL.I bought this dress in an XL and crossed my fingers that it would fit. In reality, I probably should’ve ordered a Large.The dress is like 95% polyester and 5% spandex. With that said, the lace is even stretchy!!! The lace is not at all itchy or scratchy. There is a zipper on the left side which is convenient, but if you’re right handed, it’s a bit tougher to zip up. The see lines for the waist is not stiff/firm either so the zipper doesn’t get stuck when zipping up past the waist and it means you can actually breathe too while in the dress.The bottom half, as others have mentioned, is a thicker/more durable fabric. It is soft and beautiful and not see-through.The front neckline is of a boat neckline and in the back is a deep-V. Very beautiful but it’ll be interesting to find a bra for under it.As for the fit on my body, I’m not as well endowed as some ladies are so the top portion is a bit loose on me. But I think if I wash it, it might shrink just enough for me. The waist is comfortable and pleated at the top of the skirt. On me, I think it makes my mom belly look a bit poofier, but there’s not that spanx can’t help. My one and only true complaint, I would have preferred the length to be shorter. I know, I will probably have it tailored which is a super easy fix.Would I order it again? Yup!! 10/10 I will!! I was torn between black and green so I went with the black. I will be ordering the green. This is a large that I have on. If you have a wider ribcage and shoulders you may want to consider that the top fits like a corset once it is zipped up. I have a hard time with zippers so I zipped it first and pulled it over my head (not too easy to do but thankfully the fabric has some give to it). The waist fits good which is usually the hardest part to fit on me. The wide waist band helps if you’re a little thick in the middle. It also sits at the right spot. The skirt is surprisingly heavy, hangs nicely and doesn’t seem like it will wrinkle. The lace is soft and stretchy.
