The hinges are covered to protect your table and although it’s not too heavy, it has a nice weight to it as well. A magnetic game board might be the best solution if knocking over the pieces is a worry. **Q: King's height on 18.5 inch board?** A: I gave the chess set to my relatives, so I can’t give an accurate measurement.
