I would not recommend cutting it. **Q: Can I wash rug in the washing maschine?** A: No… it’s not fabric. It would be too bulky. This is not hard to wash by hand… just spray with cleaner, rub a bit and wipe with a cloth. It will depend on how long you wait to wipe it clean. If it’s 3 months… you might want to use a scrub brush! **Q: can these be used on laminate flooring without damaging the floor ?** A: Ours are on a vinyl floor, so I can’t say for sure. They are soft, and I don’t think they would damage a laminate floor, but that is a guess. **Q: Any issues with the mat sliding on the floor? Does it grip well to bare floor?** A: I find the mat is very comfortable to stand for long periods of time. Nope, it not only sits flat, but all the edges touch the floor so you won't trip on them or even lift them up with the soles of your shoes. (the kids tried). Think it will slip? Nope, the only way to move it is to physically pick it up and place it where you want it -- or just get another one if you want it both in front of the stove and the sink. The only thing we found is: it's smaller than we would like (see above where we want it to reach from the stove to the sink). Yes, the selling image shows it to look wider than the stove, but the measurements are clear, so we were aware this would be our situation. I was a bit disappointed as the size ordered was smaller than I thought it would be. I assumed ( my bad) that what was in the picture was the size I was ordering so it arrived smaller then what I expected. With that being said, its a very nice mat. I think the only other thing is that there are still some creases on it from being rolled even after a week of pressing it. I did not try the hair dryer method that was recommended as that just feels like extra work I don't want to do yet again to work out the creases and may be unsuccessfull.
